Faces San Diego State after impressive win over No.22 Texas Tech

After a dramatic 11-10 victory over the Red Raiders on Tuesday evening, the University of New Mexico baseball squad now faces San Diego State in a critical three-game series.
The first of the three will be on Friday at 6 p.m. MST at Santa Ana Star Field, with the game having a ‘90s night at the ballpark promotion. The game can also be streamed live at www.themw.com/watch.
The Lobos are currently on a three game winning streak and continue to lead the NCAA in batting average with a .343. UNM is also second in total hits with 299 and seventh in total offense with an average of 10 runs per game.
The series is pivotal as the Lobos are currently in third place in the Mountain West standings at 5-3, but are only one game back of San Jose State (4-2) for first place. San Diego State is only a half game back of the Spartans with a 4-3 record.
San Diego State is looking to get back in the win column after two losses over Air Force and UC San Diego.

Saturday’s contest will be at 1 p.m. MST with a Hispanic Heritage Day promotion, while Sunday’s contest will take place at noon MST. Kids 12 and under will receive free admission to the game and can also run the bases after the contest is finished.
